Religious Education
RE helps to promote the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of pupils, and prepares them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life. At Broomley First School we follow the Northumberland Agreed Syllabus. We aim to develop pupils’ knowledge and understanding of Christianity and other principal religions, traditions and world views.
We work closely with the Northumberland branch of SACRE to quality assure the work we do and further develop the curriculum for the children.
Interfaith Week
We value and recognise the importance of showing the children in our community how wide and diverse the world can be. Every November we plan and deliver a wonderful Inter-Faith week providing opportunities for children to visit many places of worship and give back to all communities. Inter Faith week this year runs from the 13th - 17th November 2022.
Through the RE curriculum we encourage respect for all, including those with differing faiths and beliefs, as pupils develop understanding and appreciation of our diverse society and world. RE helps to challenge prejudice, discrimination and racism from all areas of our community.
